Last September my sister in law came to visit and brought me some goodies for Bryn. They were the cutest hair clips for headbands and I am a sucker for a cute headband! She explained to me that the styles in Utah are different than just the every day "ribbon bow". I felt like all I could ever find for Bryn was ribbon bows. And not that I have anything against them, I think they are darling but I really loved these flowers she brought. They were beautiful and just different from the norm. I thought man, I wish I lived in Utah to have nonstop access to these cute goodies! Then I thought well maybe not, I'd make us bankrupt. She told me I could make them myself. Now, I've never been the "crafty" type. At all. I truly didn't know if it was even remotely possible for me to duplicate something like that. After she left, I was talking to Ramon and I said you know what, I'm just going to try. So I bought some fabric and sat down one night, completely blind and with no clue as to what I was doing, and made one. I thought it was cute although looking back now it was pretty pitiful. Haha ....But I was proud of myself. These nightly sessions of making these flowers became an obsession and I was getting better at it. So I decided to launch my own little business. I figured they were hard to come by in GA and maybe people would like them. I put up a display at Chase's dance studio with some, I created a Facebook page where I would post pictures of my creations, and last December I even participated in a Holiday Bazaar where I had my first table display. If anyone knows me they know I LOVE fashion and I love getting inspiration and color pallete ideas from things I see on television or in magazines. I love putting colors and accessories together in my outfits and it was translating into my work. I never knew this was something I would really take to and enjoy. And now, almost a year later, I have an Etsy shop and I take regular custom orders. I absolutely LOVE dreaming up new ideas for headbands and clips. And Bryn makes them beautiful. She is my inspiration for this and I couldn't be more proud. I have big plans for this little business of mine and I can't wait to see what the future holds! Here are some pics of some of my favorite creations and links to my FB page and shop on Etsy.
